How to install the modpack and join the server. Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.255 · 30 mods.
- You need Minecraft: Java Edition. Not Bedrock, not the Microsoft Store edition, not Pocket Edition. If you bought Minecraft on a console or through a phone app store, that is Bedrock and it cannot join this server at all, whatever you install.
- You must be whitelisted. Send Jonathan your exact Minecraft username, capitalisation included. Until then you will be kicked with "You are not white-listed on this server".
Server address
mc.jonathan.gluck.dev
PC — Windows, Mac or Linux
The easy route. About ten minutes, mostly waiting on downloads.
- Install Prism Launcher from prismlauncher.org. Free and open source.
- Open it and sign in with the Microsoft account that owns Java Edition.
- Download the
.mrpackabove. - Add Instance → Import → choose the
.mrpack→ OK. - Wait while it fetches Minecraft, NeoForge and about 190.7 MB of mods.
- Raise the memory before launching. Right-click the instance → Edit → Settings → Memory → set the maximum to 6144 MB. This matters: the default allocation will stutter or crash with mods this heavy.
- Launch. The first start is slow — Create, Mekanism and Applied Energistics all build caches once.
- Multiplayer → Add Server → paste the address above → join.
Android
This does work, but it is fiddly and slow. Create, Mekanism and Applied Energistics are demanding mods never designed for phones. A mid-range device will struggle; a recent flagship copes. You still need a real Java Edition account and roughly 2 GB free storage.
- Install Zalith Launcher 2 (recommended) or FoldCraftLauncher. Both run genuine Java Minecraft on Android, which is what makes joining a NeoForge server possible at all.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Try importing the modpack first. Download the
.mrpackabove and import it as a modpack. Both launchers have Modrinth modpack support, so this may well just work and saves you a lot of fiddling. - If import fails, do it by hand: create a Minecraft
1.21.1 version, install NeoForge 21.1.255
into it (the version must match exactly), then download all 30 mods
from the list below and put every
.jarin that version'smodsfolder. - Give the launcher as much RAM as your device allows, then add the server address and join.

If it doesn't work
"You are not white-listed on this server"
Expected until Jonathan adds you. Send him your exact username.
"Failed to authenticate your connection", or you can't sign in at all
Nearly always a Bedrock account rather than Java Edition. Check on minecraft.net that your account owns Java Edition.
A long red list of mods when you try to connect
Your mod list doesn't match the server's. Don't fix it mod by mod —
delete the instance and re-import the .mrpack cleanly. If you installed
by hand, check that all 30 jars are present and none are duplicated.
Crashes on startup or when loading the world
Usually memory. Set the instance maximum to 6144 MB. If it continues, send Jonathan the crash report — Prism offers it to you directly.
"Connection refused", "Connection timed out", or it shows as offline
Nothing you can fix from your end — the server probably isn't running. Ask Jonathan to start it.
Connects, then drops you after a few seconds
More often memory on your machine than the network. Try the memory step first.
